Case v2

Files

  • v1/ - first version, split case with lid and side panels
  • v2/ - updated version, adds screen + SSD board mounting

both versions have some issues and will be fixed later :)

v2 - Printing

Print all 4 files in v2/ using a 3d printer:

  • case-bottom.3mf
  • case-middle.3mf
  • screen-ssd-case.3mf
  • screen-ssd-case-lid.3mf

Use default settings for printing all parts.

screen-ssd-case should be printed at a 45° angle so it doesn't need supports, also no supports needed for any part.

v2 - Assembly

  1. Place the Raspberry Pi 5 into case-bottom.
  2. Attach case-middle on top of case-bottom to hold the Pi in place.
  3. Put the screen and SSD board into screen-ssd-case.
  4. Close it with screen-ssd-case-lid.
  5. Attach the screen/SSD enclosure to the Pi enclosure.

All parts are press to fit, no screws needed.

Design choices

Split into two enclosures so each part stays small enough to print easily and the screen/SSD unit can be swapped.

Known issues

Both v1 and v2 have fit issues that still need fixing.
