Ultimate Modular Desk Organizer – Organize Your Chaos

Summary

Tired of a messy desk? This Modular Desk Organizer is designed to be fully customizable to fit your specific workflow. Whether you are a maker, a student, or just someone who loves a clean workspace, you can mix and match these modules to create your perfect setup.

Designed with 3D printing in mind, every part is optimized for easy printing without excessive supports. The system uses a secure interlocking mechanism (dovetails), allowing you to expand your organizer endlessly.

The Modules Included

This project includes 6 distinct modules designed for specific utility:

  • 1. The "Tech Deck" (SD & USB Holder):er): Keep your digital storage safe. Custom-fitted slots for 8 SD Cards and 2 USB Pen Drives.

  • 2. Ergonomic Phone Stand: Holds your phone at the perfect viewing angle—great for checking notifications or watching videos while you work.

  • 3. The "Coin Scoop": A tray with a fully filleted (rounded) interior. No more struggling to pick up small coins, screws, or washers from sharp corners—just slide them right out!

  • 4. Mini Drawer Module: A specialized hollow shell with a sliding drawer. Perfect for keeping tiny items like SIM ejector tools, paperclips, or precious components safe and hidden.

  • 5. Cup Holder / Pen Pot: A deep, sturdy cylinder for holding your pens, pencils, markers, or even a small screwdriver set.

  • 6. Small Storage Box: A standard open bin for general clutter like erasers, keys, or candy.

Printing Instructions

These files are designed to be printed easily on any standard FDM printer (fits comfortably on an A1, Prusa Mini, or Ender 3).

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or PLA+ (Matte PLA looks great!)

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm (Standard)

  • Infill: 10% - 15% (Grid or Gyroid is sufficient).

  • Walls: 2 or 3 walls for sturdiness.

  • Supports:

    • Modules: mostly Support-Free!

    • Mini Drawer Shell: Minimal supports might be needed for the internal roof if your bridging isn't perfect, but usually printable without them.

Assembly Notes

  • Tolerance: The dovetail joints have a built-in bsp;tolerance for a smooth slide-fit. If your printer is over-extruding, you may need to sand the edges slightly.

  • Drawer: The Mini Drawer has a 0.4mm air gap designed into the model to ensure it slides freely into the cover.

Feedback

If you print this, please post a Make! I would love to see how you organize your desk. If you have suggestions for new modules, leave a comment!
