About this mod

This mod adds new liked/loved gifts that align with in-game lore. It also adds seasonal and friendship-dependent gift tastes that match character development/dialogue. For example, Abigail likes fairy stones, and Shane likes Joja Cola after his 6-heart event!

Abigail likes fairy stones
  • Abigail likes purple, as well as the occult. Fairy stones are purple and an old miner's song says they are made from the bones of ancient fairies (see item description). bsp;
Shane likes chicken statues bsp;
  • Shane likes chickens.
Leah likes marble bsp;
  • The item description says marble is a very popular material for sculptures. Leah spends each morning sculpting. bsp;
Leah likes hardwood bsp;
  • The item description says hardwood is a "special kind of wood with superior strength and beauty", and it is a less common building material that Robin also likes as a gift. Leah uses wood for some of her art projects. Leah also likes driftwood. bsp;
Lewis loves blueberries during summer bsp;
  • On summer Sundays, Lewis asks the farmer if they have any blueberries and comments that he enjoys fresh blueberries.
Shane likes Joja Cola after his 6-heart event bsp;
  • Shane starts cutting down on alcohol after his 6-heart event, and he has been seen drinking Joja Cola instead (see 14-heart event). He also loves Joja Cola when he is in the Movie Theater. bsp;
Shane hates beer after his 6-heart event bsp;
  • Shane starts cutting down on alcohol after his 6-heart event, and he has been seen actively trying to avoid alcohol. The farmer helps Shane get help for his alcoholism as well.
Willy likes crabs
  • Willy calls the player a "fellow crab enthusiast" and gives a gift if the player has filled a fish pond with 10 crabs. Willy also loves "The Art O' Crabbing" as a gift.
Config Options bsp;
You can change the config by editing the config.json file or by using the bsp;Generic Mod Config Menu. bsp;
  • Enable Mod: When unchecked, no gift tastes will be changed (return to vanilla preferences). bsp;
  • Toggles for individual preferences: When unchecked, the item will revert to its vanilla preference. bsp;

Compatibility bsp;
Compatible with Stardew Valley 1.6.

Suggestions
This mod changes only a handful of preferences so far. This is because I wanted to make sure every preference change was explainable by vanilla in-game content. However, if you have any ideas or suggestions, I am more than happy to hear them! bsp;
