Antanteatereater is a guitar/bass effect pedal which consists of a euclidean sequencer running into a VCA. It is based around the digital HY-ESG plugin, but using an analog envelope generator and vca, as well as being in a physical format.

The euclidean sequencer runs on an MCU, in this case an arduino nano, simply because I had one lying around. The pedal has 7 controllable inputs:

• On/Off Button
• Tap Tempo Button (Sequencer syncs to this)
• Envelope Attack
• Envelope Release
• Step (Total number of steps per cycle)
• Pulse (Number of steps per cycle which are on)
• Rotate (Offset of the cycle)

The project is named after the design I chose for it, which is an ant-anteater-eater, aka an ant which eats anteaters :)

When I make music, my absolutely most used plugin is HY-ESG. I find it super versatile and very handy for adding some rhythm to otherwise static pads and other noise. I wanted a way to use this effect in live performances, and given I don't like to have things running through my laptop on stage (due to reliability), and the fact that using it requires a lot of extra hardware, I decided to make a version of it that just worked like any regular guitar pedal.
