DIY Newtonian Reflector Telescope

I designed my own telescope!

This is a pretty simple Newtonian Reflector style telescope, with a 114mm primary mirror, and a 25mm secondary mirror. I'm making it because I really love taking pictures of the stars, and was able to do some cool stuff a few weeks ago with a telescope at a family member's house! Hopefully this is a (comparatively) low cost way of getting into the field. There's a couple of great dark sky spots near me (Seattle), and hopefully I can update with some awesome pictures.

Hopefully, I can get some pretty cool images of galaxies and other cool objects, and I've included a barlow lens which should help with planetary photography.

I designed as much as possible myself! Unfortunately I don't have the capabilities to make motors or precision optics, and I'm using a modified version of the Crayford Focuser, as I'm not experienced enough with precision optics.

Annotated CAD: image Azimuth and Altitude motors are connected to the PCB box via pre crimped cables, the Altitude cable should have a significant amount of lose cabling in order to accomodate the rotation of the base. The Raspberry PI HQ Camera is mounted to the end of the focuser, and should be attached via ribbon cable to the Raspberry PI Zero 2 W in the electronics enclosure, which is connected to the power management PCB. The GPS module should be plugged in to its header on the PCB, and should be placed in a location where it has a good view of the sky, for my configuration, it will be mounted on the side of a truck, and therefor is not practical to include in the CAD model. 12v DC power comes in to the PCB from the side. de. image Approximate limit switch positions, the model here is similar but not identical to the model I already have and am planning to install. The limit switches are wired into the appropriate port on the PCB and are used in calibration so that the telescope knows where its facing..
