NRFBox-- Experimental Platform for Studying Wireless Noise and Interference Overvieww

NRFBox is a small experimental setup built to explore how noise affects wireless communication systems. The goal of this project is to study interference patterns, signal degradation, and reliability under different conditions using low-power RF modules. Instead of focusing on communication itself, this project looks at what happens when communication starts to fail. This can be useful for understanding real-world challenges in wireless systems like WiFi, Bluetooth, and other RF-based protocols.

Motivation

Wireless communication is often taught as if it works perfectly. In reality, signals are constantly affected by noise, obstacles, and competing transmissions.I built NRFBox to explore questions like: How does noise at different frequencies affect signal stability? At what point does communication break down? How do different wireless systems respond to interference? Can patterns of failure be predicted or measured? This project is more about observing behavior than forcing outcomes.omes.

What It Does

NRFBox acts as a controllable noise source in a limited experimental setup.

It allows:

Generation of RF noise across configurable ranges Observation of how nearby wireless devices respond Testing communication reliability under interference Comparing resilience of different protocols (e.g., NRF modules, Bluetooth, WiFi) The system is designed for short-range, controlled testing only.nly.
