For my circuit I decided to make 3 LEDs light up one by one when the switch gets turned on. When the switch gets turned off the LEDs will slowly fade off.

The circuit uses 3 LEDs with 1k Resistors, increasing sizes of Capacitors, and a switch to turn the circuit on or off. When on, the power needs to charge the capacitor before the LED to power it. The resistors slow down the charging time of the capacitor. This is what causes the LEDs to be powered one by one. When turned off the remaining charge in each capacitor is used to light the LED until it runs out. This is why the LED's fade out.
