You play as a sentient blueberry looking to escape the farm you are trapped in. You must find keys in the grass to unlock the locked gates and progress through the farm.
You move with WASD and to pick up a key just collide with it and your key tracker will go up. Every time you use a key to open a gate the key tracker will go down to indicate you used the key.
I loosely followed the Week 4 tutorial in order to figure out the kind of game I should make. I used a top down camera view like the tutorial and thought about what kind of collectables there can be in my game. I honestly designed the player character before I knew an idea for the story of the game and just built off of that. I used aseprite to make the sprites for my game and I lot of time trying to fix the fence design but the final project still looks strange but I think it's fine. I originally just wanted a simple game but I kind of last track of time and just started building more. This program really helps me get into the groove of just making things and being creative that I just wouldn't have if I tried making a game completely solo. I really like godot and every time a I make a new game I can see the small improvements on mistakes I have made in the past and just getting better at using godot. I thoroughly enjoyed making this game and I hope you like it too even if it is pretty short.
