A led chaser circuit using NE555 and CD4017 ICs which have a configurable speed using a 100K Ohm potentiometer
The ICs used are:
| Serial No. | Part Name | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | NE555 | Its the timer ic used to change the chase speeed. |
| 2 | CD4017 | It acts as a controller for controlling the LEDs. |
Its a simple project made without any microcontrollers and just complete crude electronics It was a fun project to make learned quite a bit building the circuit..
Especially making a board using only bare ics without a MCU is vey fun you get to learn a lot from this and its not somting that can be fixed using the code it has a specific function and by making siple circuts like these you get to know about how to make use of these circuits for normal project high level ones.
I myself had worked with 555 ic only a few times but by making this board myself learnt a lot about how the ic works and how we can control the oscillation of the ic by varying the resistance and capacitance values
