Speedrail makes NYC transit simple with real-time schedules, delay alerts, and smart route filters. Navigate LIRR, MTA, and Metro-North faster and stress-free. Welcome to Speedrail! Using our novel approach to transportation, Speedrail optimizes and dynamically expedites transportation throughout all of New York. Unlike traditional approaches that prompt the user to pick out specific stations manually or decide on routes without any knowledge of the stations, the application automatically takes into consideration user-requisite amenities and which local stations offer them. Based on this information, the app calculates the fastest route from point A to B and allows easy usability compared to previous approaches. Not only this, but the routes take into consideration the current train position and how far away it is from your stop, effectively furnishing the fastest route possible. Additionally, current users can miss their stops or sometimes forget about them due to external stress factors. As a result, we implemented a fully nuanced notification system that focuses on preventing users from missing their stops and being notified of daily routes. Our notification system is specifically designed to notify the user in modular segments and to ensure user alertness without overwhelming them. Using their location and the time from arrival, the application will automatically notify the user when they should start walking from their location to the train. Finally, Speedrail features diverse options regarding stops for all transportation types in the New York metropolitan area. It estimates prices for tickets at specified locations and fares that update in real time, as well as prices for various passes that users might find useful for their route. To make the app more accommodating for different age groups, we used an approach that changes transportation times according to disabilities. Ultimately, the app tailors previously created functionality and integrates it to find optimal routes and amenities for universal users while travelling.
